Hello there! Welcome to the Paper Feed Adjustment Instructions

This article is especially important for those having skewed or crooked prints. Let's get that straightened out!

SG400 and SG800

  1. First, pop some copy paper into your paper tray. No need to waste your sublimation paper!
  2. On the printer, press the menu key on the printer.
  3. Next, use the up and down arrows to navigate to maintenance on the LCD screen. Select it by pressing the enter key.
  4. Now, use those same arrows to navigate to Adj. Paper Feed on the LCD screen and press the enter key to select.
  5. After that, navigate to Pr. Test Pattern and select it by pressing the enter key.
    • This will print a test pattern to adjust your paper feed. Once printed, you will look for the best adjustment values on the printed test pattern.
    • The recommended adjustment value is the number that appears on the left of the lightest gray square with a horizontal line on either side.
      • Example: If the lines are straight next to "+2", then the adjustment value is "+2"
  6. If the lines next to the lightest gray square are broken, you will want to look for a new adjustment value. Look for lines going in the opposite direction from all the others.
    • The lines will be in a zig zag pattern
      • Example: If the lightest gray square is "+2" and the lines going in the opposite direction are next to "+6". This means the best adjustment value is between "+3" and "+5"

If the lines are not straight on the lightest gray square, follow the steps below:

Follow the steps listed above again if your screen goes dark!

  1. On the printer use the up and down arrows until you find adjustment then select by pressing enter.
  2. Now, use the arrows to enter the adjustment value (this will be between -14 and +14)
    • When deciding which adjustment to change it to, look at the example below:
      • Example: If the lightest gray square is "+2" and the lines going in the opposite direction are next to "+6", this means that the best adjustment value is between "+3" and "+5"
  3. Once you choose the correct adjustment based on your paper feed adjustment you printer previously, press enter to select.
  4. Now, press escape to finish!

Tips

If black streaks start to appear, increase your adjustment. If white streaks start to appear, decrease your adjustment.

Make sure to print another print adjustment if you change to a different value.

If the streaks still appear after making the adjustment, continue changing the adjustment by 1 value until you get your desired result.
