Adding or Reinstalling a Sawgrass Printer Driver

Whether you are adding a second Sawgrass printer, upgrading to a new model, or simply reinstalling the printer driver, Sawgrass Print Utility allows you to manage it directly from the application.

This article explains how to remove an existing printer driver and install a new one. If you are reinstalling the driver, we recommend removing the previous one first to help prevent any potential driver conflicts or duplicate printer entries.

 

Removing the Printer Driver

If you are installing a replacement printer, we recommend removing the previously installed driver first to prevent conflicts or the creation of duplicate printer entries. You can remove the currently installed driver directly from Sawgrass Print Utility by following these steps:

  1. Click Settings, then select Printers.

     
  2. Select the printer you want to remove, then click Remove.

     
  3. You will be prompted to choose whether to keep the printer on the system or remove it completely. Select Uninstall from System, then click Continue.
     

Alternatively, you can remove the printer driver completely through your operating system settings, as shown below.

macOS

  1. Click the Apple logo > System Preferences
  2. Select Printers & Scanners, then select the printer you wish to remove.
  3. Click the [-] button to remove the printer from the list.

Windows

  1. Settings > Printers & Scanners
  2. Select the printer you wish to remove
  3. Select Remove

 

Installing the Printer Driver

  1. In Sawgrass Print Utility, click Settings.

  2. Select Printers, then click + Add a Printer.

     

  3. Select the type of printer you want to install, ensure that the printer is connected, then click Install Driver.

     

  4. A new window will appear and search for devices connected through the network or USB.

    • If your device is not detected initially, click Rescan to search again.

    • If the printer is connected through a network and you want to enter its IP address manually, click Manually Add IP.

    • You can also rename the printer by clicking its name and entering a more appropriate one. This can be useful if you have printers in different locations or use different ink types, allowing you to identify them more easily.

       

  5. After making your selections, click Add Selected.
