Disable Protected Printing in Windows 11

Why this is needed

On Windows 11 Home, Protected Printing can prevent printer drivers from installing correctly and may cause errors such as:

“Failed to add Language Monitor. (19)”

Turning this setting off usually resolves the issue.


How to Disable Protected Printing

  1. Open Windows Settings

  2. Go to Bluetooth & devicesPrinters & scanners

  3. Scroll down to Windows protected print mode

  4. Click Turn off and then confirm

  5. (Optional) Restart your computer
