Some users may experience an issue where sending a new print job results in the previous print job being printed repeatedly, instead of the new file.
This is typically caused by the Windows Print Spooler service becoming stuck or corrupted.
Symptoms
- The previous document keeps printing repeatedly.
- The previous print job keeps printing instead of the new one.
- Cancelling jobs from the print queue does not resolve the issue.
Resolution
Restart the Print Spooler (Recommended Fix)
- Press Windows + R
- Type
services.mscand press Enter
- Scroll down and locate Print Spooler
- Right-click Print Spooler
- Click Restart
Additional Steps if issue persists
If restarting the spooler does not resolve the issue:
- Restart your computer
- Clear the print queue manually:
- Stop the spooler. You can follow the same steps as before but click Stop instead of Restart.
Navigate to:
C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
- Delete all files in this folder
- Start the spooler.
