All our printer models can connect using an Ethernet or USB. Below we have listed recommendations, requirements, and steps to get you started.
Ethernet and USB recommendations and notes:
- Make sure the USB or ethernet cord is long enough so there can be extra slack.
- Please note that only USB 2.0 is supported.
- Connect the USB or Ethernet cords on the printer on the left side of the printer. There will be a cover towards the top of the printer.
- Ethernet cords that are CAT5e or CAT6 are compatible with all our printer models.
- You do not have to stay connected to the USB cord all the time! .
Connecting via USB
To view video subtitles in your language, please press c (subtitles/closed captions) followed by settings > subtitles/cc then select your language.
- Make sure the machine is off.
- Open the port cover.
- Insert the USB cable's hexagonal (type B) plug firmly into the port.
- Close the port cover.
- Insert the USB cable's rectangular (type A) plug firmly into the computer's USB 2.0 port.
- When advised to do so during the installation of the printer driver, switch the printer on.
Connecting via Ethernet
- Open the port cover.
- To use a wired connection, connect the Ethernet cable.
- Connect the other end of the cable to the machine's network, such as your router or switch.
Check the LEDs on the Ethernet port.
- Lights in yellow when 100BASE-T is in operation.
- Lights in green when 10BASE-T is in operation.
- Close the port cover.
Selecting the LAN Type (Ethernet Only)
The “LAN type” is the way the printer is connected, whether it is wirelessly or with an ethernet cable.
- Press the [Menu] button.
- Press the Up or Down arrow button to display to display [System Settings], and then press the [OK] button.
- Press the Up or Down arrow button to display [Interface Settings], and then press the [OK] button.
- Press the Up or Down arrow button to display [Network], and then press the [OK] button.
- Press the Up or Down arrow button to display [LAN Type], and then press the [OK] button.
- Select [Ethernet] for wired connection, and then press the [OK] button.
