Paper misfeeds can usually be easily resolved by performing the following:
- Open and reclose the rear door with the small grey clips to ensure it is fully closed.
- Press form feed, then paper reset button.
- Check there are no print jobs remaining in the print job queue (SG500/1000 driver).
- Very gently wipe the Horizontal Encoder strip with a lint free cloth and some denatured alcohol.
- Check that there is no paper caught in the rear paper feed rollers by unclipping the two grey clips on the rear of the printer.
- If there is no paper debris in the printer, the error may be caused by an accumulation of paper dust or ink stain on the feed belt. Clean the paper feed belt with a lint free cloth and denatured alcohol. If the paper feed error persists, you can check what is causing the error by verifying the jam code.
You can determine the Jam Code as it will be displayed near the top right of the LCD panel. In the example below it is 09.
