This article explains how to select or change the ink type assigned to your printer in Sawgrass Print Utility.
When you first add a printer under Settings > Devices, you will be prompted to select the installed ink type. Selecting the correct option ensures that Sawgrass Print Utility applies the appropriate colour profiles and print settings for the cartridges in your printer.
You may need to update this setting if the wrong ink type was selected during setup or if an Ink Type Required to Print warning appears at the bottom of the Print Settings window. Until an ink type is selected, the Print option will remain disabled.
If you are unsure which ink type is installed, remove one of the cartridges from the printer, check the label on the front, and then reinsert it.
Selecting the Ink Type
- To select the Ink type, navigate to the Settings menu and click on Devices
- Choose the printer you wish to select the ink type for and click Choose Ink Type
- Make your selection. If you are unsure of the ink type, remove one of your cartridges from your printer and check the front label, then reinsert the cartridge.
Changing the Ink Type Selection
Should you have made an incorrect selection, you can change the Ink Type by performing the following.
- Navigate to the Settings menu and click on Devices
- Select the device you wish to change the ink type selection and hit Remove
- Once removed, click Add a Printer
- This will add the printer back into Sawgrass Print Utility and you will again have the opportunity to select the Ink Type.
