A Primary Chart is used for troubleshooting purposes to verify the printer’s performance and ensure proper ink flow. Printing this chart is a helpful first step if you’re troubleshooting color issues or banding.
Steps to Print a Primary Chart
Open Sawgrass Print Utility
Launch the Sawgrass Print Utility on your computer.Click on Settings
Navigate to Devices and click on your printer.
Click on Printer Utilities.
Locate and select the Primary Chart Option
In the menu, find the option labeled Primary Chart. It is best to print the Primary Chart using sublimation paper, either A4 or Letter size.Review the printed Primary Chart
Check for missing colors, color shift, streaks, or banding.
If the chart prints correctly, your printer’s primary colors are functioning properly and any issues your may be experiencing may caused by print settings or configuration.
If you notice issues such as:
Vertical lines: Consider performing a print head adjustment.
Horizontal lines in certain colors. Consider printing a nozzle check and performing a head flush.
Horizontal lines in all colors: Consider performing a paper feed adjustment.
