How-To: Registration Adjustment (SG500/1000)

The registration adjustment allows you to fine-tune where printing starts on the selected paper tray. If the registration is not correctly aligned, prints may appear skewed, offset, or misaligned on the page.

This guide explains how to print the built-in Registration Test Pattern, check the adjustment values for both the Read Direction and Feed Direction, and apply the correct values to the printer. The adjustment is performed per paper tray, so be sure to select the tray you are currently using when printing the test pattern and applying the adjustment.

Correctly setting the registration can help improve print placement and ensure that your design starts in the correct position on the media.

Important: Before performing a registration adjustment, ensure the paper is loaded correctly in the selected tray and that the tray guides are positioned securely against the media. Incorrect paper loading or loose tray guides can also cause skewed or misaligned prints.

When the difference is one calibration mark in the "+" direction, the optimal adjustment value for the [Read Direction] is "+1.0".
