Assigning a static IP address ensures that your printer always uses the same IP on the network, which helps maintain reliable communication. However, this setup requires manual configuration and, if not properly managed, can lead to IP address conflicts.
If your printer frequently goes offline or becomes unresponsive, it may be due to its IP address changing. This typically happens when the printer receives a new IP address from the access point it's connected to. In such cases, we strongly recommend setting a static IP address.
The most reliable method is to assign the static IP address through DHCP reservation, which is done on your router or access point. If you're unsure how to do this, please consult your network administrator.
If you choose this DHCP method, no changes are needed on the printer itself. However, you may need the printer’s MAC address, which can be found by navigating:
Menu > System Settings > Interface Settings > Network > Machine IPv4 Address > MAC. Add
(Use the left selection key under the LCD panel.)
Alternatively, if you prefer to set the static IP address directly from the printer menu instead of via your router or access point, follow the instructions below. Please note: this guide assumes the printer is already connected to your network.
