Status & Warning Messages Displayed on the LCD Panel

This article clarifies the meanings of messages displayed on the LCD panel. Please note that Service Code errors are not addressed in this guide.

 

Status Messages

Message

Meaning

Loading ink, first time. Wait and do not touch the machine for 13 minutes. Ink being filled. Wait a while. During this stage, the printer is filling the ink lines, tank and print head. It is a vital part of setting up the printer.
Printing... The machine is printing.
Ready

The machine is ready to print.

Resetting Job... The printer is resetting the print job. Wait until “Ready” appears on the display panel.
Offline The printer is offline or a firmware update is in progress.
Please wait...
  • The message might appear for about a second. Wait a while.

  • The printer’s interior is cooling down. Wait a while. 

  • If the error persists, please contact our Care Team as there may be a fault with the unit.
Setting change... The printer is changing settings.
Cleaning the Charger Belt. Please wait for 1 minute. De-condensation is in progress. Please wait
Maintenance in Process... Head cleaning is in progress. Please wait

 

Warning Messages

Solution

Low Ink Remaining The ink cartridge is at 10% or below.
  • Check which color cartridge will soon have to be replaced, and then have a new cartridge handy.
Set the Ink correctly The ink cartridge for the indicated color is not installed correctly.
  • Install the cartridge correctly. 
  • Check the cartridge chip reader is correctly positioned
  • If issue persists, contact our Care Team
Open Top Cover and remove misfeed. A paper jam has occurred.
  • Open the top cover and remove any paper or paper debris.
  • If the issue persists, check our Paper Jam Guide.
Cover open please close the (cover name) The indicated cover is open.
  • Close the indicated cover.
  • If error is related to the top cover, ensure no objects are placed on top.
  • If error is related to the top cover, loosen the top cover screw slightly.
Remove (Cover name, Tray name) to remove misfeed A paper jam has occurred.
  • Open the cover and remove any paper or paper debris.
  • If the issue persists, check our Paper Jam Guide.
Machine's inside temp. is out of operating temp. range. Turn off power, wait, then turn on again. Printing is not possible because the printer is placed in a location that is too hot or cold.
  • Turn the power off, wait for a while, and then turn it back on. Also, check the print environment. We recommend between 15-25 degrees C.
Temperature inside the machine is out of operating temperature range. Please wait. Printing is not possible because the printer is placed in a location that is too hot or cold.

Load paper in Paper Tray. Paper is missing in the indicated paper tray.

Reset Paper Tray correctly The indicated paper tray is not attached correctly.
  • Remove the tray and then re-attach/insert correctly
Press [FormFeed] to remove misfeed A paper jam has occurred.
  • Open all covers and remove any paper or paper debris.
  • If the issue persists, check our Paper Jam Guide.
Replace... The indicated item must be replaced, or a used item has been installed.
  • Replace the indicated item.
  • You can purchase new consumables from any of our certified dealers
Change (Tray name) to the following settings: The size and/or type of paper in the indicated paper tray does not match the setting specified.
  • Ensure that the settings used in Sawgrass Printer Utility/Print Manager match the paper that is in the tray.
Pull (Tray name) to reset paper, open (Tray name, Cover name, Unit name) to remove misfeed A paper jam has occurred.
  • Open all covers and remove any paper or paper debris.
  • If the issue persists, check our Paper Jam Guide.
Ink Collector Unit Full The ink collector unit is full.
  • Replace the waste ink collector unit with a genuine Sawgrass product.
  • You can purchase new consumables from any of our certified dealers
Ink Collector Almost Full The ink collector unit is almost full.
  • The waste ink collector unit will need replacing soon.
  • You can purchase new consumables from any of our certified dealers

 

Reset Ink Collector Unit correctly. The ink collector unit is not installed or is installed incorrectly.
  • Install the ink collector unit correctly.
  • If the issue persists and you are using a genuine Sawgrass collector unit, please contact our Care team.
Remove Bypass Tray to remove misfeed A paper jam has occurred.
  • Remove any paper or paper debris.
  • If the issue persists, check our Paper Jam Guide.
Set the Bypass Tray to the rear side correctly The Bypass Tray is not attached correctly.
  • Detach and reattach the multi bypass tray.
Independent-supply ink set The installed ink cartridge may not be a genuine Sawgrass product.
  • Use a genuine Sawgrass cartridge.
  • Please contact our Care team if you are indeed using genuine Sawgrass cartridges.
Head-cleaning failed The head cleaning has failed to complete.
  • Run the head clean again after clearing the error.
  • Press the selection key for [Exit] to clear the error.
Head-flushing failed The head flushing has failed complete.
  • Run the head flush again after clearing the error.
  • Press the selection key for [Exit] to clear the error.
R Internal Unit Almost Full The internal waste ink tank is almost full.
  • Please contact our Care Team for further assistance
Connect failed:WirelessCard Turn power off, check card. An error has occurred in the wireless LAN board.
  • Turn the machine off, and then turn it on again. If the message persists, please contact our Care Team.
The job was reset due to insufficient memory. There is insufficient memory.
  • Reduce the size of the document or image slightly.

  • In the printer menu go to [System], then [Printer Features], set [Memory Usage] to [Font Priority]

Paper size/type mismatch. Change settings to: When using Auto Tray Select, the type and/or size of the paper in any of the paper trays does not match the type and/or size of the paper selected for the job.
  • Ensure that the settings used in Sawgrass Printer Utility/Print Manager match the paper that is in the tray.
Paper Misfeed Press [FormFeed] to remove misfeed. A paper jam has occurred.
  • Remove any paper or paper debris from inside the printer.

Firmware Update Failed The Firmware update has failed
  • Disconnect the data cable (Ethernet or USB)
  • Power off the printer. (Unplug if necessary)
  • Restart the PC, Power the printer on and reconnect the data cable if applicable
