How-To: Cleaning the Paper Registration Sensor (SG500/1000)

Cleaning this sensor is very straight forward!

We recommend doing this occasionally as paper dust can accumulate on the sensor and can result in paper misfeed errors

To clean the sensor, we recommend using either a small brush (such as a small paint brush) or some compressed air. Alternately, simply blowing on it can also help clear any paper dust or debris.

  1. Power the printer Off.
  2. Remove the sensor cover from the middle of the rollers.

  4. Blow out or remove using a brush any paper dust that may prevent the sensor from working properly.

  5. Reinsert the sensor and power the printer On.
